Description

How to make your world and everyone in it -- SAFER. The third ethos tenet of the UNcivilized Ethos is one we get the most questions about — while at its core — while also being one of the most important. To quote best selling author Jordan Peterson— "A harmless man is not a good man. A good man is a very dangerous man who has that under voluntary control.” Men, dangerous men are not a danger. Men who need to show the world how tough they are most certainly are, though. We all know these men. We may have been one ourselves or be curious if we are one. This is ever more important given the fragile state of our communities and the world, currently. The goal of this event in its simplest terms is for all participants to leave EMBODYING the UNcivilized notion — LET OTHERS BE SAFE AS I WALK AMONG THEM. In this first ever two hour workshop together, Founder of the UNcivilized Men’s Movement and ex-professional MMA fighter, Traver Boehm alongside 2nd Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and Founder of The Academy of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Professor Robert Wunderlich will walk you through how to:

— Create an inner sense of safety for yourself — Develop a situational awareness mindset — Create physical and emotional safety for those in your life — Embrace and express your inner predator in a healthy manner — Actively defend yourself from common physical attacks and real life situations And, let’s not forget — we will also laugh until our cheeks hurt. Yes, this is serious subject matter but all of it will be presented in an easily digestible manner WITHOUT EGO or POSTURE. Yes, there is a physical component to the workshop, and you are welcome to come join us even if you have physical limitations or don’t feel comfortable participating in any aspect of the workshop. Hour 1 — Traver will discuss the UNcivilized Ethos, mindset, and why you NEED to be dangerous in order to not be a danger to society and those around you.

This will include roundtable discussion, small group conversations, and an exercise that may or may not involve a blindfold.

Hour 2 — Professor Wunderlich will walk the participants through the best drills, escapes and philosophy garnered through 15 years of teaching in Brazilian Jiujitsu. This will include defending against strikes, chokes, and takedowns.

Please spread the word if this event is not for you. EVENT is a $25 Donation. All proceeds from this event will be donated to — Defy Colorado, an organization dedicated to helping prisoners leave penitentiaries with employable skills and business mentors, thus drastically reducing recidivism rates. If you can not make the event and would like to still donate $25 to Defy Colorado, please sign up and message us that you won’t be attending. Cheers, Traver & Robert Traver Boehm is the the founder of the UNcivilized Men’s Movement and the UNcivilized Nation. He is the author of Today I Rise, and Man UNcivilized as well as a two time TEDx speaker, men’s coach and podcaster. Drawing upon an eclectic background ranging from professional bodyguarding and Mixed Martial Arts to Traditional Chinese Medicine and meditation, Traver also teaches people to skillfully use the inevitable pain of their lives as fuel for growth and positive change. In 2016 after losing a pregnancy, his marriage, and his business partnership all within weeks of each other, he created a radical social experiment and spent the next 12 months as if it were his last year to live, aptly naming it “The Year to Live Project.” Highlights of the year include: - Volunteering with the dying as a hospice worker - Meditating for 28 days straight in complete isolation and pitch-black darkness in a Guatemalan hut - Living in the frigid Utah wilderness for a month with only a knife, a water bottle, and a blanket With a passion for people and a unique lens through which to view the human experience, Traver is a highly sought after teacher in the fields of consciousness, relationship, and personal development. When not teaching workshops or radically shifting the way men experience their masculinity, Traver can be found obsessing over a single word in front of his laptop, chasing surf around the globe, and being awful at yoga. Really awful. Professor Robert Wunderlich is currently a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with over 16 years of experience on the mats. He has dedicated thousands upon thousands of hours learning the intricacies of BJJ thus allowing him to easily teach everyone from the greenest novice to men and women training for the world of professional fighting. His genius is taking complicated ideas and breaking them down into easily digestible concepts. Professor Wunderlich is the owner and head instructor of the Academy of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Arvada located in Arvada, Colorado, and the Shokunin Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association. His BJJ career began under the tutelage of Professor David Ruiz, who learned directly from Helio Gracie and his sons Rorion and Royce. Robert is a dedicated instructor of the art that focuses on all aspects of BJJ including Self Defense, Vale Tudo (Fighting Aspect of BJJ), and Tournament (Sport) BJJ. He is the father of two small humans who do not find his resume impressive in any way. He is also hilarious.
