Packaging Operator Job Description • Responsible for ensuring complete package quality of product taking regular checks of weights, seals, codes, glue patterns, etc. • Record packaging machinery efficiencies, downtime and fill out reports accurately and correctly. • Maintain safe work practices, participate in safety programs, and follow safety rules and practices to ensure the safety of employees in their work areas. • Monitor line-flow rates and perform regular checks for proper feed of product through baggers for maximum efficiency. • Monitor and adjust vibrators to gain optimum bagger performance. Includes continuous scraping to allow for optimum product level. • Troubleshoot equipment operations, identify mechanical and electrical equipment problems, and take action as needed or by notifying proper personnel. • Order packaging material (paper, poly, carton) from storage as needed. Job Qualifications • Previous operator experience required • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand on hard floors and walk quickly. • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. • The employee must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds without assistance • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
