A one hour yoga session with Amy Cownie of PowerLife Yoga, followed by a Silent Disco and a complimentary mimosa or beverage of your choice. Cost - $25 and includes a one hour yoga session with Amy Cownie of PowerLife Yoga, a Silent Disco following yoga and one mimosa or beverage of your choice. Surrender to the beauty of nature in the middle of Water Works park as you enjoy this unique opportunity to sip and stretch, all while wearing headphones that allow you to drown out everything but this amazing experience. Each participant will receive their own pair of headphones to help drown out everything but the music and instruction of Amy. Enjoy the Silent Disco experience following yoga which will feature three unique channels of music to enjoy. The Big Red Food Truck will be on sight with food available for purchase. Please bring your own yoga mat. About Amy Cownie: Born and raised in small town Iowa, Amy discovered yoga after her first son was born. Instantly, she knew she had found something that spoke to her. An avid athlete all her life, she loved the power and energy that yoga gave to her. She practiced on and off for a few years until she made her way through the doors of Power Life. Amy felt entirely welcomed by the community that Power Life has built. She loved the intensity and focus that Power Yoga entails. After a while of enjoying all of the positive physical effects yoga had on her, she wanted to delve deeper into all of the other attributes that yoga houses. Almost unknowingly the yogic philosophies started to be incorporated into her daily life. She knew then that yoga was more than just an exercise and decided to enroll in Power Life’s teacher training. Yoga has transformed Amy’s body, mind, & spirit. She hopes to convey this to students on and off the mat. Don’t hesitate to reach out to her after class, she loves talking and getting to know her students! When Amy is not practicing or teaching, she may be spotted cycling on Des Moines great set of trails. Amy lives in Des Moines with her husband, Sloan and they have 4 children. So lets face it, there’s not much time left for anything else!
