Description

The Harley White Jr Quartet performs Impressions of Chopin, Ellington and Jobim Frederic Chopin's, Prelude in E minor Op. 28 No. 4 was not only one of his most famous compositions; it was played at his funeral and featured in several Hollywood movies. It was also the inspiration for Carlos Jobims' Bossa Nova, How Insensitive? Critics have said that it takes a lot of courage to play jazz inspired by Chopin. Still, who can blame the jazz musician for trying? Chopin has himself been called the great improviser, and many believe that if alive today, he would swing. The Duke, as in Ellington's Black and Tan Fantasy, is said to have been inspired by Chopin's Piano Sonata Op. 35 No. 2 in B Flat minor. Had your COVID-19 shot(s)?
