American dead from tobacco every year = 480,000 dead from second hand tobacco smoke - 41,000 every year die from tobacco every day = 1,300 access to such a deadly substance, 24 7. yet we turn a blind eye to it, think nothing of it,and focus on a substance that kills far less Americans every day, every month, every year. why is the war on drugs funded by the tobacco and alcohol commission ? It appears that they really don't care about americans being hooked on drugs as much as it is who's drugs it is americans are strung out on. what other manufacturer creates a product that is so deadly and kills so many people every year, and gets away with it ? gets to sell it on an open markets and transport it all over the world ? personally, i worry more about the tobacco cartels, the alcohol cartels, the big drug company cartels, the fast food cartels who target children with their unhealthy products, that have access to our government and come in wearing expensive suits and influence our leader with cash and bribes. the war on drugs isn't about safety. How can they arrest a drug addict, put him or her in a cage with violent people, give them substandard healthcare, a substandard diet, where they could be beaten, killed, force to join a gang, given deadly std's, and call it " safety " ? we don't put tobacco dealers or users in jail. We don't put alcohol users or dealers in jail. 2 products that combined kill well over 500,000 americans every year. the war on drugs is a farce. it feeds a for private prison system, it feeds a corrupt government, it feeds greed and profit. It is used to destroy american families a a pace that drugs will never accomplish. If they want to make it about safety, them we should manufacture the drugs that people sue and make them safer to use. After all, the only people that use drugs are people that use drugs. Like tobacco and booze, we should make them accessible, cheap, so crime would go down, put the cartels out of business, offer people who want treatment, treatment. The drug war creates gangs and cartels and prisons, and corruption, and death. How is that a " safety " measure ? prescription Opioids kill about 38 americans every day. tobacco kills 1,300 every day. Marijuana 0
