WAYLAND, MA — The Wayland Racial Justice Advisory Committee will hold its second community conversations event in May featuring a survivor of a World War II Japanese internment camp.
The event will focus on issues facing Asian residents in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Human rights advocate Margie Yamamoto will speak about her internment camp experience. Terrie Livingston of the Wayland Living Experience Project will discuss her life in Wayland, and resident Richard Lee will moderate a question and answer session.
The first Wayland community conversations event happened in February to celebrate Black History Month.
