SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott voters will head to the polls Tuesday for the 2021 Town Election. Along with town meeting members, there are contested races for Select Board, Town Moderator, Board of Health and School Committee. All voting will take place at the Swampscott High School cafeteria this year because of the coronavirus health crisis. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. "We take COVID-19 social distancing precautions very seriously," Swampscott town clerk Susan Duplin said. "During early voting and on Election Day, we will have the following protocols in place: * All voting booths will be placed at least 6-feet apart and continuously disinfected.* Hand sanitizer will be available to voters* Masks will be required (please note, that voters who cannot wear a mask for any reason will not be turned away).* We will limit the number of voters allowed in the room at a time.* Voters in line will remain 6-feet apart." Vote-By-Mail Absentee and vote-by-mail ballots not already mailed to the town clerk's office must be returned in person by the close of polls Tuesday night. Ballots can be dropped off in the dropbox outside of town hall or the dropbox inside the town hall at the town clerk's office.
