Description
We are seeking a hardworking individual to join our awesome maintenance team. Candidate must have irrigation experience. Landscaper/Maintenance Technician Job Summary May assist in performing simple electrical or plumbing repairs, running wires and pipes under the supervision of the maintenance manager or lead technician. Landscape and maintain grounds of Resort/Community, mowing grass, trimming and planting trees and plants, raking, and fertilizing. Performs various maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community. Handles service requests for repairs and improvements of vacant lots to a market-ready status. Works as a team participant along with the maintenance staff to ensure the community meets the quality maintenance standards set by the Company. General Accountability Maintains lawns, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features. Mows and edges lawns, using power mowers, push mowers, and/or edgers. Maintains flower beds by pruning, weeding and watering as needed. Prunes and trims trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws. Plants flowers and trees. Maintains the ground equipment which may include repairs and preventive maintenance as needed. Operates powered lawn equipment, such as mowers, weed whackers, electric clippers, and pruning saws. Reports any maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions or repairs to supervisor. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. May perform any of the following at managers request: light bulb changes, caulking, filter changes, touch-up painting, lock repairs, install/repair window coverings, pool maintenance, minor HVAC maintenance, preventive maintenance, etc. Responds to resident service requests and concerns in timely manner. Reports any maintenance concerns for repairs on vacancies, models, clubhouse, and/or common areas, or unsafe conditions or repairs to the Maintenance Supervisor. Assists in monitoring and/or controlling maintenance inventory and/or supplies. Assists Maintenance Supervisor or Community/Resort Manager on special maintenance projects, i.e., preventive maintenance of building components and/or mechanicals. Assists in keeping the grounds and common areas free of trash and debris. Works closely with management and maintenance staff in developing an integral team that effectively represents the quality and professionalism of the Company. Maintains open communication with Resort/Community management. Skills Must be able to lift heavy equipment. Must be familiar with the use of maintenance equipment, such as lawn mowers and hedge trimmers. Problem identification and resolution. Work independently and pay close attention to detail. Physical Demands Occasionally required to be in stationary position. Occasionally required to move about inside and outside in hot or cold environments. Occasionally required to work in wet or humid conditions Will work around moving mechanical parts. May work on high, precarious places using ladders and scaffolds. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles (dust). Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Will carry a radio and be in communications with resort staff and maintenance teams. Occasionally required to use hands or arms. Occasionally required to bend or lift. Occasionally required to lift light weights (less than 25 pounds) up to and including heavy weights (50 pounds or greater). Finger dexterity required. Hand coordination required. Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus.
