PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — More than 100,000 Prince William County residents are fully vaccinated, according to the health district's vaccine dashboard. An additional 65,000 people have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, but not the second. The county's daily vaccination numbers have increased since a mass vaccination clinic was added at the former Gander Mountain location near the Potomac Mills mall in Woodbridge last month. Now, the county averages approximately 5,000 vaccines administered per day, according to the vaccine dashboard. Currently, all residents aged 16 or older are eligible for the coronavirus vaccine. 46.6 per cent of eligible people in Prince William County have received the first dose of the vaccine, according to the health district. 28.3 per cent of people 16 or older in the county are fully vaccinated. The Prince William Health District has offered open appointments at its Manassas Mall clinic when possible. On Monday, April 26, the health district is offering the first shot of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine to residents who visit the clinic from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. As Prince William County continues Phase 2 of the state's vaccine rollout plan, the county's efforts continue to focus on community outreach events. Local healthcare providers and the Prince William Health District have worked together to get vaccines to underserved communities throughout the county. Over the weekend, Sentara Medical Center offered the coronavirus vaccine at community clinic in the Woodbridge area. The event, located at the Mother of Mercy Free Clinic, vaccinated more than 1,000 people, according to Sentara.
