Golf Maintenance Solutions is seeking an Irrigation Technician for the Villages Golf and Country Club in San Jose, California. The irrigation system is Rainbird with Numbus II ICI central control. Responsibilities of the Irrigation Technician is to conduct repairs and maintenance to pipes, valves, sprinklers and wires. Also included is spot watering. Adjusting run times will be added after site specific training. Other greenskeeping tasks to be performed as deemed necessary. This is a full time position scheduled for 40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday. Working on weekends will be discussed during the interview process. Educational Requirements Although having an educational background in Turf Management or related field, a college degree, formal vocational training, a high school diploma, or GED would be helpful, there are no specific education requirements for the Irrigation Technician position. Experience Requirements Experience as an Irrigation Technician with golf course experience is of high interest. Irrigation Technician with turf and landscape experience will be considered. Experience as a Golf Course Greenskeeper with the desire to expand their skills is a plus. Special Requirements Ability to lift 50#. A self-motivated individual that is able to multitask is important. The ability to adapt in a fast pace environment is a key to success in this position. A person with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently and with others will be a good fit. Communication skills must be assertive.
