Key Responsibilities: Steel surface preparation, Paint spraying, Job site cleanup, Lift safety and proper operation. *Painter must have experience in high steel painting**Painter must be able to wear a full face respirator*Painter must be able to lift and move 50 pounds* Tower Painters Inc. works seasonally during the summer with winters off; often working 6 days a week, 8 to 9 hours per day. Painter sets up equipment, prepares the steel with various tools including high speed grinders with wire wheels, scrappers, grease removers, sanders, primes bare or prepared steel, and applies a smooth even coat of paint on steel surfaces. Painters climb towers usually 40’ to 60‘ tall (sometimes up to 300’), hangs or rappels from the towers using static and safety lines, or climbing ropes, and walks the ski lift line to move from tower to tower. The painter understands and follows all safety rules and methods, suggests safer methods of work when appropriate, and is conscious of the safety of other workers or anyone else present on the job site.
