Thank you for thinking adoption first when considering any pet. At NorCal Rescue we intake small animals such as guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, gerbils, and hedgehogs. We accept animals coming from different backgrounds and situations, special needs included. Age: Approximately 6 months old Special Needs: None Personality: Active Breed: Syrian Color: Black Constance is a 6 month old, black female syrian hamster. She was surrendered to the rescue along with another hamster who were being housed together. Constance needs a large enclosure with lots of enrichment. She is always attempting an escape plan. She is okay being picked up, held, and pet. She will take treats from your hand. However, sometimes she will flinch when you pet her. She is rather traumatized after living with another hamster, she was not the dominant one. She often reacts as if she will be attacked, but she will not bite. Would not recommend for small children. If you're looking for a very young and active ham, then Constance might be for you.
