HARTSDALE, NY — Two Jersey Mike's Subs locations, including one in Hartsdale, and Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley partnered for Day of Giving March 31, raising more than $14,000 to help grant life-changing wishes for local children with critical illnesses. At the Hartsdale and Nanuet restaurants, throughout March's Month of Giving, customers were encouraged to make donations to Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley through Jersey Mike's mobile app or onsite at each participating location. The campaign culminated with Jersey Mike's Day of Giving, when the local Jersey Mike's donated 100 percent of the day's sales — not just profit — to Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley, a company spokesperson said. Tom Conklin, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley, said he was grateful for the company's support and generosity in the second year of the partnership. "The results are even more meaningful this year as the Day of Giving celebrations were canceled last year due to the pandemic," he said. "This generous donation gives us the ability to provide for more children and their families and ensure that we're creating hope for our wish kids." Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley serves Delaware, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties. They've granted more than 2,900 wishes for children in the community. There are 200 wishes in the pipeline waiting to be granted, many of which are on hold until travel restrictions are lifted. Since Month of Giving began in 2011, Jersey Mike's Subs has raised more than $47 million for local charities, the company said.
