Paddle Pub Austin is hiring experienced Party Boat Captains to operate our 16 person peddle-powered pontoon! Our ideal candidate has: • Preferably a USCG Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV) License or higher level of Captain's license issued by the USCG. • Experience operating a commercial vessel. • 5+ years experience operating boats. • No current license suspension/revocation. • No record of boating violations. • Experience boating on Lake Austin. • Familiarity with loading and unloading passengers beneath Pennybacker Bridge. • A reliable source of transportation. For this position, you must be able to: • Facilitate a fun, upbeat, and party oriented atmosphere while enforcing all of the required safety protocols. • Project a strong command presence. • Stay focused and safely navigate a crowded lake with multiple distractions on board. • Work well with other staff members. • Ensure that all guests abide by company rules. • Maintain a professional demeanor. • Adhere to company standards. • Be on time for scheduled shifts and during tours. • Be outdoors for extended periods of time and during inclement weather. (We operate rain or shine!) • Have weekend availability Fri-Sun as well as during major recreational holidays such as The 4th of July etc. • Submit to a background check. Addition responsibilities include: • Preforming a pre-departure checklist prior to each tour. • Clean and maintain a tidy deck before and after each tour. • Take out trash. • Refuel boat as needed. • Train and educate first mates on proper boating operation.
