FACILITIES SPECIALIST Department: Operations Reports To (Title): Director of Human Resources SUMMARY Overview of the position. Perform general janitorial and/or custodian duties. Responsible the overall care of building, carry out cleaning, maintenance and shipping duties. Works with Safety and Security Specialist to ensure all safety regulations are being followed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned. • Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning etc) • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities. • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects. • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repair. • Performs routine maintenance tasks as needed. • Stock and maintain supply rooms. • Deliver copy paper. • Work closely with cleaning service to ensure high level of building appearance and cleanliness. • Distribution of mail, UPS and FedEx packages • Maintain a full inventory of shipping products and materials. • Ability to learn and operate FedEx system. • Immediately responds to facility emergencies. • Ability to operate pallet jack, fork lift and /or reach truck INTERACTION This position will interact closely with the Director of Human Resources, Company staff members and external parties. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Not applicable EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE • High School Diploma or equivalent • 1 year + janitor or custodial experience REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Knowledge of and the ability to apply commonly used facilities maintenance service and repairs and janitorial concepts, practices, and procedures including but not limited to the use of chemicals and sanitation disposal. • Ability to operate various equipment in a safe and efficient manner (i.e. forklift, pallet jack or dolly). • Ability to perform routine/minor building repairs. • Professional demeanor; team player. Ability to interface with internal and external parties at all levels. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail. • Integrity and ability to work independently. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
