The Greer Farm near Daingerfield, TX is looking for summer help on the farm. Normal work week is 5-1/2 days. Work day is about six hours starting at 8:00 am most of the time, but can be longer. Must have social security number- we E-verify. Need is preferred to be from early May (or immediately) through late summer or early fall. Skills Desired: Preference for someone that has some experience in landscape work and growing and caring for plants and poultry/animals, but not required. Must be quick learner and not afraid to work. You need to have a passion for multi tasks outdoor, be reliable, will follow instructions and be able to work without constant supervision. Job tasks cover every aspect of our farm activity from making beds and cleaning cabins, feeding animals, picking and packing berries, weeding,, cleaning berry rows, pruning, planting new plants, assisting in repairs, construction and maintenance, delivering farm products or setting up and selling at farmer’s markets, barn cleaning and more. You should be non-judgmental, have physical endurance, can focus on detail and have no issue working with other persons on the farm. A majority of your time will be spent outdoors. We sell on the farm, so you need interpersonal skills to react with all types of people. Special conditions: No smoking on the farm, no illegal drugs, alcohol in moderation after work. Have the ability to lift 50 pounds. You must have valid driver’s license and responsible driving record. No felony convictions. We may do, at our expense, drug tests initially and thereafter occasionally. You need your own transportation. No pets of your own at the farm. Limited use of cell phone during work hours.
