We are a small engineering company working out of Delray Beach, Florida. This is an entry-level position and is perfect for someone who wants to get their foot in the door in this industry. This position is for part time in the office and part time in the field (outside) so you won't be sitting in a chair all day long :). You will be both an office manager and a field technician. The office only requires knowledge of Word and Excel (the rest is easily done thru training). An environmental field technician works in the field at various properties all around central and south Florida performing soil and groundwater sampling. We work anywhere from Gainesville to Key West so you will have to stay overnight at times, but you will know weeks in advance. We don't do any hard labor, but we work outside and you have to deal with the heat in the summer. We're looking for someone who is capable of working as a cohesive team. We are more interested in someone's character. Having said that, please send us a paragraph about yourself and tell us why we should hire you along with your resume. The work we perform outside (sampling soil and groundwater) is not hard... It's just not for everybody because it gets hot in the summer here.... So think about that before you apply. Hours are various, however you will work M-F and occasional weekends (but it's very rare). The hours can be anywhere from 35 to 45 hours per week, some days will be 6 hour work days while others are 10 hours. If you live locally, that is also preferred. We are looking for someone to start training ASAP but we will be accommodating with the right person. If you are a smart, high energetic person with a good sense of humor, you'll fit right in.
