I am soon going to be seeking a lease horse. I am a 22 year old experienced rider as of 14 years simply seeking a horse to ride for enrichment/leisure when I am off work and have that free time, I have only been out of the saddle about a year, so not too long. I do have my own tack (obviously would want to ensure it fits whatever horse I ride, and will purchase pads for better fit if needed/applicable). I’d most prefer a property to lease in that already has a well-established round pen, an indoor or outdoor arena isn’t a requirement by any means but is highly appreciated. If I could lease the horse on the property it is that would be ideal so I don’t have to pay a lease fee AND boarding fee. I am experienced in proper grooming and I definitely will invest time in that prior to rides or even ground work. I have rode in both english but primarily western disciplines and have worked both extensively over the years. I have no desire to run barrels or jump, but would love the opportunity to go on trail rides on a here and there occasion. I ride with a soft and steady hand and do not yank in my horse’s mouth, and have solid balanced seat. But, I am NOT looking for a green broke lease horse and am not looking to pay someone to basically break their horse for them in a sense. My training days have now passed and working a day job that’s physically demanding, I’m not willing to risk an accident/injury by trying to work with someone’s project. I’m open to any genders and also have experience riding and handling stallions. Being a slightly taller woman than average I’d love 15hh+ but am open to maybe 14hh at a minimum. I have a lot of experience with gaited breeds, and am open to a more woah than go senior too, or a younger horse that likes to get around. Just not seeking anything flighty, spooky, or hard mouthed. Just want to have a really solid and reliable horse to ride.
