Description

BEVERLY, MA — Those traveling Route 128 northbound and southbound in the Beverly and Danvers stretch will encounter lane closures and a brief, full shutdown of the highway Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The state Department of Transportation will close lanes from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday between the Dodge Street and Conant Street Industrial Park exits. State Police will also implement a full shutdown of the highway for approximately 15 minutes at 1 a.m. both northbound and southbound. At least one lane will be open in both directions the rest of the night. The closures are so crews can put in place a new overhead sign structure as part of a $5.5 million expansion of MassDot's Intelligent Transportation System. MassDOT is advising travelers to seek alternate routes, reduce speed and use caution while approaching the stretch at these times. Did you find this article useful?
