Get out & explore the native spring ephemerals with Baldwin Wallace Plant Ecologist Dr. Kathryn Flinn at Richfield Heritage Preserve
NATIVE EPHEMERAL HIKE
Dr. Kathryn Flinn, Associate Professor of Biology at Baldwin Wallace University, will lead a wildflower walk at Richfield Heritage Preserve to see the native spring ephemerals in bloom. Ephemeral plants are perennials that emerge quickly in the spring and die back to their underground parts after a short growth and reproduction phase. A variety of these flowers continue to bloom through May throughout The Preserve
Dr. Flynn will bring wildflower guides and show you how to use them to key out plants, or feel free to bring your own guide. This hike will take a mellow pace and will be under 2 miles length.
