LIVERMORE, CA — A six-vehicle pileup injured three people in rural Livermore Saturday night. Crews worked to free at least one person who was trapped and extinguish a separate vehicle fire, officials said.
Officials responded at 8:47 p.m. Saturday to the "expanded traffic collision," the Alameda County Fire Department tweeted. The crash shut down all four lanes of Highway 84 near Vallecitos road for about one hour.
Three people were taken to a hospital with one in critical condition and two suffering from moderate injuries.
Fire officials did not immediately respond to Patch for comment.
