TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says a man is in custody and charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Jamarqus Howard, 24, who was pronounced dead at the scene of a vehicle accident Saturday night at Branscomb Apartments on 60th Street.
Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office Captain Jack Kennedy, the unit's commander, said around 10:20 p.m. Saturday evening, deputies were called to Branscomb Apartments for a vehicle accident with an unresponsive driver.

"Shortly thereafter callers reported that the driver had been shot," Kennedy said. "Medical arrived, but he victim was found to be deceased."
The Violent Crimes Unit then assumed the case and charged Raheem Abdule Davis, 25, with one count of capital murder after collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail Sunday morning and denied bond.
"The capital murder enhancement arose from the fact the victim was shot while inside a vehicle," Kennedy said. "The victim and suspect were acquaintances and had been involved in an argument which led to the shooting."
