Description
The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for the receiving, stocking and inspection functions of the company. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: • Performs basic inspections and learn, on an ongoing basis, more complex incoming inspections • Receives incoming shipments and reports discrepancies • Verifies correctness of incoming shipments (quantity &/or quality/part number) • Checks for inventory shortages • Reports and/or Rejects and prepares paperwork associated with returned or damaged items • Routes material to proper departments • Maintains records and files, input data into computer system /ERP (Made2Manage M2M) • Interfaces with Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Production, Sales • Pulls, packs, seals and ships company products in accordance with company practices or customer requirements • Verifies that item number, quantity and ship-to address is correct • Keeps stock in neat and orderly arrangement • Fills requisitions and work orders • Maintains inventory records, counts inventory and performs cycle counts • Receives, stores, issues equipment, material, supplies and tools • Counts, sorts or weighs incoming articles • Inspects incoming material for conformance to blueprints, engineering drawings, or product specifications using various measuring devices • Examines, measures and tests incoming material for cosmetic defects, structural flaws, correct dimensions and electrical characteristics using gauges, templates, micrometers, calipers and first articles • Records defect information and writes material discrepancy reports • May deliver and pick up material at various locations using company vehicle or forklift Experience and/or Skills Required: • Must be flexible and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks • Must be able to identify and make recommendations to solve problems • Must be a self-starter, motivated and follow through to completion • Familiar with basic computer operations (MS Office, inventory control system [M2M], email) • Familiar working with Excel spreadsheets • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions, both oral and written • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly • Valid California driver’s license • Must be able to be certified to operate a forklift • Must be able to read, write & speak English • Bilingual speaking in Spanish strongly preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attributes: 1. Occasional kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds Environmental Conditions of employment: The majority of time in this position will be spent in the production area and in an office environment.
