Description
Bees do 2 things. Make honey and multiply.
Bees that are new do not pose much threat as they're busy building a home and occupied in construction. It's when they have a home to defend they become a problem. This is something all people should know and I wish they knew.
All too common when people call me they state that they've been fine for the past 6 months or year and then this summer they just were really aggressive.
The thing is that people wait until the bees are a problem. Bees multiply and as time goes by that bee hive grows yearly. The queen lays more in the 2nd and 3rd year. That is when I get a call and it's a huge hive that has done a lot of comb building. More bees to deal with and the larger the job.
It's always better to call when they know the bees just arrived then waiting months or years.
I've been doing this since 2014 and am able to work in central Texas 10 counties by the Texas State Bee Keeper.
I specialize in Africanized bees.
A few things to help me is:
1. Send photo and how long they've been at the location
2. How high off the ground is it. What ladder am I bringing or is it scaffolding?
3. Electricity and water near by
4. What is the surrounding area? Farm land, homes, animals and people
