Olive is a very special girl looking for a very special home or rescue with the time to build her confidence. She is a 6 month old Catahoula/Pit mix that was hit by a car several months ago. She was owner surrendered along with her brother, Popeye. She is vaccinated and current on Trifexis, but has not been scheduled to be spayed as I feel she is too timid to go through a major surgery right now. Olive shows no physical injuries of her accident, but is definitely traumatized. She is fearful of loud noises, fast movements and being approached by humans. She feels most comfortable approaching people on her terms and is unsure about being shown affection. She has made quite a bit of progress here in the past few weeks, but being fostered with her brother and two other puppies around the same age isn’t an ideal situation for her. She is codependent on her puppy pack, and relies on them too much. She is beginning to show signs of littermate syndrome with the other puppies. She has a lot of potential and could make better progress without having her big brother and sisters to hide behind. Being that Olive is so timid, small rambunctious children are likely not a good match for her. She will need a very gentle handler with time and patience to build her social skills. I would love to see her with another rescue that has a foster available without other puppies her age or an experienced owner who is up for a challenge.
