LEHIGH ACRES, FL. 33936 REQUIRED TRAINING / EDUCATION EXPERIENCE: Three to four years in any of the skilled craft trades or previous experience as a general repairman. Knowledge of and ability to use all general repair tools (both hand and power), read simple drawings and specifications and make rough estimates of requirement materials. Previous experience / good knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Good communication skills • Command of the English language, written and verbal • Good vision, either natural or with corrective lenses • Basic mathematical skills for simple calculations • Good hearing • Good physical condition • Must be able to bend, stoop and squat • Must be able to lift at least 100 pounds • Ability to work safely on ladders and high lifts • Must be able to work in varying environments, both indoor and outdoors • Must be able to work safely with chemicals • Must be able to be on your feet for 8 hours at a time • Must be able to shovel dirt, sand or snow (if applicable) • Must be able to work hours outside of regularly scheduled hours and days RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: 1. Performs general carpentry and repairs to furniture and structures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters. 2. Performs general repair and maintenance using a variety of tools and materials; assists other employees in these areas. 3. Performs painting, decorating and finishing of furniture and structure including but not limited to plastering, refinishing and stripping. 4. Checks and makes minor repairs on electrical systems such as refrigeration controls, television sets and lighting systems. 5. Checks and makes minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures, such as pipelines, toilets and sinks. 6. Performs preventative maintenance in regards to plumbing and electrical systems such as checking electrical outlets and pipe systems.
