SALEM, MA — Olivia Decius, of Salem, graduated with a degree from Tallahassee Community College and will be recognized during the April 30 commencement exercises. Decius was among more than 3,000 students who received degrees. TCC would like to congratulate all graduates. A special virtual commencement ceremony video can be seen here. This online celebration launches Friday at 6 p.m. "The Class of 2021 will have the resilience and ability to persevere through trying times," the school said. "There is no doubt that our graduates will use these circumstances to learn and grow. As our students move forward in life, we hope that they will pursue any academic and professional goals with tenacity and continue to remain connected to the TCC community." TCC President Jim Murdaugh shared his congratulations to the graduating students as they conclude their TCC education. Takoda Blood, of Swampscott, was awarded with Control Tower Operator certification from Advanced Air Traffic Control in Valdosta, Georgia after an intensive 12-month program of classwork, testing, simulation, and actual tower experience. Takoda has been hired by the school as an instructor and simulator programmer while he waits for his tower assignment. (Patch is looking to recognize Salem and Swampscott students who have gone on to succeed athletically and academically at colleges or universities. Let us know their stories at [email protected].)
