Join Chariho Rotary Club and Chariho Interact Club in a morning of #serviceaboveself as we beautify the courtyard for Spring!
The Courtyard, which was a gift from the Rotary Club to the High School more than a decade ago, has been used by students to study or enjoy lunch outdoors, as well as by the school for events, receptions, and recitals. COVID-19 has only made the Courtyard more valuable to the school, serving at times as both an outdoor classroom and meeting space.
Our service activity for the day will be clearing out any yard debris from the winter months, preparing courtyard privacy berms with fresh mulch, and doing A LOT of planting! Our goals is to add COLOR and LIFE to this space! This is an excellent service opportunity for anyone passionate about our schools! Adults, families with kids, and students are all welcome! Student volunteers will receive a record of their service.
This will be an outdoor activity. In the event of unfavorable weather, our rain date will be the following day (Sunday, May 16th). We will be practicing social distancing and require all volunteers wear a mask while on school grounds. Please plan to dress of the elements. You may want to wear a hat, sunscreen, etc.
Light refreshments will be provided. Please bring your own water to stay hydrated!
Finally, we will have some extra gloves and tools onsite. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own tools, if possible, to make the most productive use of your time!
This service activity is made possible by a District 7950 matching grant.
