MIAMI, FL — Two members of the Miami Police Department were relieved of duty with pay effective Friday, Public Information Officer Kenia Fallat said. She said the department has launched an internal investigation into Deputy Chief Ronald Papier and Commander Nerly Papier, but didn't say share any details. "No further comment will be made by the department related to this matter," Fallat said. Ronald Papier recently served as interim chief of the department ahead of new Chief Art Acevedo's April 5 swearing in. Local 10 News reported that Ronald and Nerly Papier are married.
