Heritage Salvage is looking for a Miller. Primary function is running a Timber King Sawmill and working on Custom Orders. When not milling we would like you to pick and pull sold material for custom orders for our woodshop that our sales and design staff has sold. You would also be organizing the yard with the forklift and a helping hand. Capacity to understand lumber and its nature and the fact that every time you resaw a stick of wood something different happens even if it has been cut 150 years ago. Every job is a custom order, from a mantel needing the back edge straight-lined to a custom beam wrap job, milling clear old growth redwood into planks or slicing a 4” slab into two book-matched pieces. No boredom involved, creative problem solving is a key ingredient, mixed with sustainable enthusiasm. Making the most out of the stick of wood is the magic of a sawyer who sees the wood for the job.
