Description
Press release from the Wright County Government:
April 23, 2021
With the fishing opener in Minnesota just three weeks away, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is reminding anglers to do their part to inspect and clean their boats before taking them to Minnesota lakes.
For the past decade, the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) has been a growing problem that has turned some of Minnesota's most popular lakes into AIS infested waters that choke off the fish population and make swimming virtually impossible in some areas. Every year, more lakes get infested with species of AIS and most are introduced when the AIS catch a ride on a boat and are deposited in a new lake on the next fishing trip.
