LIVERMORE, CA — Free coronavirus vaccines are being administered in Livermore this weekend at May Nissen Park, community organizers announced. Anyone 16 and older can sign up for an appointment to receive their first dose of a Pfizer vaccine on Saturday, according to Philomena Rambo, director of community engagement at Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District. Some walkup slots will be available, but organizers are encouraging people to sign up in advance by completing this form here. Vaccines will be administered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the park at 685 Rincon Ave. in Livermore. A photo I.D. is required for adults, minors and legal guardians. Those who schedule a first dose appointment this weekend can return again May 15 for a second dose at the same location. The event is a co-sponsored joint effort between the school district, the Livermore Area Recreation & Park District, the City of Livermore and in partnership with CalOES and FEMA. Rambo told Patch that 500 appointments were available after organizers received a new shipment.
