Description
I've been getting rehearsals for this band going with myself on Sousaphone and the main drummer, with a bunch of trumpets, a few trombones, and a sax player; but can always use more people!
The idea for this band is as a live group, a high energy kind of party thing doing arranged pieces, which as it stands so far are mostly covers of NES/Sega era video game music, pop hits from the 80s and 90s, but with brass and drums and changed grooves. It may seem odd but the stuff I've been getting going there is a really cool/fresh take on the whole brass band notion, and I'm only looking forward to moving it forward in the future into new ideas (hip hop/etc). I have up on a Google Drive various midi demos of pieces I've arranged as well as relevant sheet music that I'd love to share with any interested parties.
Looking for any brass players or saxophones, drummers interested in this kind of thing. Any skill or commitment level, the plan is for people to be able to come and go and for practice to be mostly at home with just some big rehearsals (in my backyard) before any gigs. Also interested in accordion/concertina or any other instruments really that might work, or just people that want to help out and make this happen. A mobile and electricity-free instrument, some interest, and a cursory ability to decipher written music or learn from recordings is the only requirement.
Now that I have enough people and just need a few more tunes I am starting to look for outdoor gigs!
