Description
Established Band Looking for a Second Vocalist with Keys / Rhythm Guitar Skills We’re an experienced gigging 4-piece band looking to add a second singer with guitar/keys skills to the mix. We have an amazing lead female singer, a seasoned lead guitarist, as well as a strong rhythm section with skilled drums and bass. We’re looking to add the right singer that can also add another layer of guitar and/or keys to the mix as they also add to our vocals. We'll also consider adding just keys without the guitar skills if the sound is right. Of course if you happen to play mandolin, fiddle or steel as well, then bring those along and come on over! Bottom line - you must have a great sound, pro gear and great stage presence. We usually "play it like the record", but like to make it our own as well. Just to be clear - the ability to sing some lead and understanding harmonies is required. We perform popular and dance-able music from the 60’s through current. We're Country at our roots, but enjoy playing a wide variety, including Classic and New Country, Blues, Rock, Pop, Funk, Disco, etc. No metal, punk, rap, grunge or whatever the current neo-post-something style of music is. We have pro gear and a pro attitude about this project. We’re not looking for a member that is in other bands, or a for-hire guy that plays in multiple bands. We’re looking to add another family member to join us. Age isn't important - we range from our 40's to 50’s if that matters to you. Pro attitude and love of music is what matters most in this band. Most of all, we all really like each other and make sure we're having fun! We all pitch in for load-in, set-up and load-out, so be prepared to be part of the family and the team. We play 1-3 times a month, more in the summers typically. With the current pandemic situation who knows as things open back up, but we're actively booking and getting ready! We rehearse weekly in our dedicated rehearsal space in St. Helens. (Not in Washington by the volcano – we’re out past Scappoose in Columbia County). If you’re in this to make a living you’re probably not a good fit – we all have day jobs to pay the bills, but we treat this like a pro band and all have pro attitudes. Also keep in mind that most gigs are Friday and Saturday nights, so having those nights open would obviously be best. We play all over the Portland area, and get paid for our gigs unless we’re doing a benefit for a great cause. We’re family-oriented and non-druggies. We’ll sip a beer or a drink at practice and gigs, but nobody in the band is a drunk or an addict. For full disclosure, we’re out in St. Helens, just NW of Portland. We’re only about a 30 minute drive from the West Side / St. John’s area. If you’re in Beaverton or Hillsboro, it’s a quick trip over Cornelius Pass. We have players that are willing to ride-share to rehearsals as well, depending on your location. If this sounds like it might be a good fit for you, please reach out by CL mail at first. We’re auditioning now – the first step is ideally to get some samples of your playing and your singing if you have them available, then we’ll get together and have a fun jam session to test the chemistry. We look forward to meeting you and hearing your sound!
