Looking for a skilled, creative rhythm section w/ soul

Description

I’m an experienced multi-instrumentalist/vocalist searching for the right rhythm section to create a unique blend of soul and jazz. What this band is: - mostly originals w/ a few relatively obscure covers worked in: I’m tired of playing other people’s music and many venues these days are tired of paying ASCAP to host cover bands - a mix of about 2/3 vocal and 1/3 instrumental tunes: entertainment with a strong foundation in musicianship is the key - fairly heavy on improvisation: While this is not meant to be a “jazz” group, it will definitely have jazz elements to it, one of which is the ability to solo. We need musicians who are comfortable improvising over different grooves. - a working band: This is not just a jam session or a “maybe someday we’ll get out there” kind of band. This is a band for those who want to gig often and get paid. Occasionally, this may mean heading up to Seattle etc. for a gig or 2, time will tell, but the band marketing strategy from day one is to get gigs and perform. I’m looking for the standard rhythm section: drums, bass, keys, guitar, experienced players with solid chops, touch and versatility. Send a link or attach a file that shows you doing what you do. Submissions without this will be ignored. Once all members are found, I’ll set up a Zoom link and I can take you through my development and marketing plan, and we can start working on the music. If you’re tired of regurgitating the same old covers and want to create something fresh, something accessible to both the average listener and the discerning musician, music that’s both cerebral and visceral, and a show that’s a lot of fun for both the audience and the players, get in touch. I’ll send you some more info on me and links to where you can see and gear me do my thing, and we can talk.
