We have an immediate opening for a Mark and Pack Worker-Shipping. Basic Function: The function of the Mark/Pack Worker is to mark, and pack finished parts according to instructions, and assist the Mark and Pack Supervisor to ship them in a timely manner to assure that parts reach customers when required. They also ensure parts are packed so that they do not become damaged during shipment and all paperwork occupying each shipment and accurate. Reporting Relationships: The Mark/Pack Worker reports to the Mark and Pack Supervisor. Authority: The Stockton Mark/Pack Worker has the authority to: 1. Ensure that all the current jobs are marked with the correct label or other markings per the WCM work instructions. 2. Ensure that the parts are packed per packing instructions. 3. When no packing instructions are present, make sure the parts are packaged in a manner to minimize the risk of damage during shipping. 4. Suggest methods to improve packing and marking quality and reduce time and cost of same. Responsibilities: The Mark/Pack Worker has the responsibility to: 1. Maintain a pleasant atmosphere for people to work in. 2. When requested, make sure that all filing is completed and up-to-date and that paperwork is forwarded to the appropriate department. 3. Print and maintain all labels required for use in bag and tagging. 4. All parts are packaged in such a manner that the package does not open during shipping and the parts are not damaged during shipping. 5. All documents are stored per WCM’s document control guideline procedures. 6. Implementation of bar code marking project. 7. Label and/or mark all parts correctly to proper specification. 8. Upon request, create packing slips and bar code labels are required and ensure the proper documentation is included with each shipment. 9. Upon request, verify that the job paperwork is complete and accurate. Duties: The Mark/Pack Worker duties are to: 1. Ensure that the part numbers are correct, including information on shipping log, invoices and shipping boxes. 2. Suggest methods to improve product quality, reduce time and cost to manufacture 3. Follow guidelines from customers in marking and packing parts for shipment 4. Keep the area clean 5. Comply with company IIPP. 6. Follow all applicable company work instructions and procedures. 7. Ensure that all parts are correctly marked and packed according to customer specification and are shipped to the correct destination. 8. Return materials to stock room from production is marked correctly. Performance Measurements: The Mark/Pack Worker will be deemed to be performing in a satisfactory manner when the following is accomplished: 1. A productive working relationship with other personnel is maintained 2. Marking and packing goals are consistently met. 3. Accuracy and quality of work is good. 4. Accurate record-keeping and filing 5. Professional appearance and demeanor 6. A consistent level of evaluations on the Mark/Pack and Shipping Lead which fall into the “Satisfactory” or better level, which contains an action plan for performance improvement 7. Degree of closeness to a goal of zero customer rejects resulting from the marking and packing discrepancies 8.
