Description

This is our annual free drive-thru event for destroying personal household papers. Use paper bags or boxes; no plastic bags. The Newport News Sheriff’s Office will hold its annual Shred Day on Saturday, June 26 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Todd Stadium, 12465 Warwick Blvd. Enter from Warwick Blvd. for this drive-thru event. Members of the Sheriff’s Office will direct you to a shred truck. NNSO employees and volunteers will remove the papers from your vehicle. This is a free service Sheriff Gabe Morgan offers each year to help individuals and families protect themselves from identity theft. This event is not for businesses. **NOTE: Please bring your documents in paper bags or boxes. Plastic bags are no longer accepted for shredding. Boxes will be emptied and returned to you. Your cooperation will help minimize the wait time.** What kinds of papers should you shred? Papers that contain names, addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers and other sensitive information valued by ID thieves. (bank statements, tax documents, etc.) Follow us on Facebook for the latest happenings of the NNSO.
