Description

Business owners and people who work in the hospitality businesses are invited to this one-day training in customer service and more! This one-day training is designed to support and empower businesses in northwestern Pennsylvania to have exceptional customer service, hospitality and resources available in order to make visitors to our region feel welcome. The morning session is geared more toward frontline workers who have the first experiences with visitors to your town (ex. waiters/waitresses, gas station attendants, hotel personnel, etc). Training will focus on customer service and directing people to regional assets. High school students who work in these types of businesses and those who are looking to get into this line of work are invited to attend. We encourage business owners and managers who train new employees to attend this session as well. The afternoon session is for business owners, managers and non-profit executives who have a business that interacts with visitors to your town. There will be panel discussions and breakout sessions focusing on topics we’ve heard there is a need for, such as workforce development/retention, marketing and more. More details and registration information is coming soon! For now, please save the date. Due to Covid-19 precautions, we are planning this event to take place outdoors, rain or shine. We will have tents, but please wear proper footwear and attire. Social distancing and masks are required. The Kane Area Development Center is partnering with North Central PA Regional Planning and Development Commission, Northern Pennsylvania Regional College, PA Wilds and Clarion University Small Business Development Center to bring together a great team of speakers and presenters. We would love to see a large turnout from the rural, northwestern part of the state, particularly the counties where our event partners serve: Armstrong, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Forest, Jefferson, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, Tioga, Venango and Warren counties. Thank you to North Central PA Regional Planning and Development Commission for funding this event though a mini-grant!
