Seeking upright bass player

Cool project is looking for the right Upright Double Bass player (or upright electric) to rehearse with, learn repertoire quickly, and eventually gig backing up an a cappella Vocal Group specializing in music from the Doowop and Rhythm-n-Blues 1950s, Motown 60s, and Classic Soul 70s. Interested in learning this kind of repertoire backing up a vocal group? An interest in learning repertoire and standards from those eras and paying tribute them, as well as extraordinary musicianship to be able to learn bass lines from old recordings and adapting them on the spot to accompany a vocal group’s arrangements are required. A jazz background of course is also helpful. Recent jazz school graduates looking for a long term cool and exciting project to be part of are welcome. Must be reliable and dedicated as well as professional yet fun and easy going to work with who is able and willing to adapt to different situations. Must be able to get around the NYC area with ease for rehearsals, recording sessions, and gigs. Willingness to eventually play and invest in electric upright for ease of travel for possible future gigs a plus. Rehearsals begin this May. Vocal group has long history of exciting opportunities and wants to grow with you as a bass player to add exciting arrangements and help with keys and support for their harmonies.
