Special Thanks to Koin Church for providing excellent hospitality and allowing this event to happen in their space.ABOUT SUPERLOSER:Superloser was formed in July 2019 by Bassist and Vocalist Dylan Harris. The group started off as The Looselips, and was intended to be a solo recording project by Harris that he would bring in a band to assist him in live performances, similar to the likes of Tame Impala and Toro Y Moi. In November 2019, Harris along with guitarist Michael Ruiz and drummer Brandon Ambrose recorded a three-song EP entitled "Who Are The Looselips?" (later retitled "CoAk" when officially released in September 2020.) featuring songs such as the jangly, driving melodic stylings of "Everything" and the "arguable highlight", as described by music critic Matt Jensen of Divide and Conquer, "Green-Eyed Wonder." After the sessions for the EP were completed, the group played shows throughout the Inland Empire, most notably opening for Jefferson Starship in February 2020 at the Canyon Room in Montclair, California. In May of 2020, Harris placed the band on hiatus due to his split from Ambrose and Ruiz, and the Covid-19 pandemic. Though Harris considered dropping the moniker in favor of a solo career, in August of the same year it was announced that The Looselips would continue, and in turn, become a true band rather than a recording project relying solely upon Harris's effort alone. It was then that Harris asked long-time friend and guitarist JC Montanez to join The Looselips both as a guitarist and songwriting partner to Harris, and when he also recruited lead guitarist Scott Yergens, and drummer Jonathan Maravilla rounding out the sound of the now four-piece band. In light of the new members and new direction, it was then decided that The Looselips would rebrand under their new name, Superloser, and begin rehearsing songs written by both Harris and Montanez individually and as a newly-formed, Lennon-McCartney style collective partnership. In April of 2021, the band debuted their first single under their new name, "Again and Again" through Harris's independent recording label, Changeling Records. As of now, the band continues to rehearse while live gigs slowly return from the aftermath of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, as well as write and record new material in hopes of having their debut studio album out by the end of 2021 or early next year.
