$40K In Grant Funding Goes To Needham-Area Non-Profits

NEEDHAM, MA —Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham has awarded $40,000 in grants to local non-profits that focus in at least one of three areas: food insecurity, youth education and social determinants of health. "During these challenging times it has been so encouraging to work with our extremely capable and caring nonprofit partners to help our most vulnerable populations," said Leslie Medalie, Chair of the BID Needham CBAC and member of the hospital's Board of Trustees, in a news release. "The isolation of this past year has been detrimental to the physical and mental health of so many, from teens to adults to seniors. We are proud to be funding compelling programming that seeks to address the issues within our community on a grassroots level." The recipients are the Charles River Center, Concord Prison Outreach, MassBay Community College, Needham Farmer's Market, Needham Housing Authority, Neighbor Brigade, Riverside Community Care and SPAN. Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital is part of the larger Beth Israel Lahey Health, which includes other hospitals in eastern Massachusetts.
