Description

Learn the art of Leatherworking and Craft your own Custom Leather Choker! The leather costumes & accessories we see in the movies often make the craft seem unobtainable for the average joe. The bandoliers with intricately tooled designs, the sturdy gun holsters and sword sheaths in your favorite western or medieval fantasy are epic to behold. But don't worry, quality leatherwork isn't as difficult to craft as you might think. With a little guidance and the right tools, anyone can create leatherwork fit for royalty. In this class we will learn to cut & trim leather to match individual measurements for a personalized leather choker. Additionally, we will create unique designs using tooling stamps & hammers. You can also add custom lettering to your cuff at no additional charge. Finally, we will add extra flair to your pieces with colored dyes. We will also cover the often overlooked details that elevate your leatherwork above that of your average novice. Useful techniques for cutting clean lines in your leather. You'll learn how to create professional-level beveled edgework & nice round corners for your pieces. We will be using dyes, so please dress appropriately. We will also be using blades, so confidence with a knife is beneficial. Leather Choker for Beginners is taught by Joey, of Fabled Fabrications. A props, accessories, & costume company he started with his girlfriend, Tess. The goal of Fabled Fabrications is to work with nerdy groups & individuals to bring their epic fantasy scenarios to life. They work with LARPs (Live action role play) to create immersive settings, garb, and characters that bring the fantasy storyline to the next level. Joey is a fantasy nerd enthusiast who has been crafting with a variety of medias for over half a decade. He has spent time working with wood, assembling furniture and turning projects on the lathe. He also has experience casting in resin for molded and lathe-related projects. Along with creating fantasy LARP costumes & accessories from fabric & leather. Finally, Joey takes pride in his brewing skills, enjoying a home-made stout or porter when he can. Joey believes there is nothing you can't learn if your willing to put in the effort. Hunt down the knowledge you need to bring your ideas to life! Each guest will leave with their own custom choker, and the knowledge to get started with the creative art of Leathercrafting!
