LONG BEACH, NY — The City of Long Beach has postponed the sale of 2021 beach passes due to uncertainty surrounding the state's COVID-19 beach restrictions. Passes are expected to be sold in advance of Memorial Day weekend. "I want to wait until a vote takes place and the prices are indeed final," Joseph Brand, Long Beach commissioner of recreation said at the monthly city council meeting. "...We also have a simultaneous launching of the new electronic beach passes, and I want to make sure that timing allows for us this is done once and it's done correctly." The City of Long Beach says the beach will officially reopen for the season on May 28.
