RENTON, WA — Renton police and the Valley SWAT Team logged the city's largest-ever drug bust Monday, seizing an estimated $1.7 million in illegal drugs after a lengthy investigation, officials said Thursday. According to police, the operation netted a massive cache of narcotics, including: 39 pounds of methamphetamine8.75 pounds of heroin6.6 pounds of cocaine5,000 Oxycontin pills Police also confiscated two guns during the arrest. In a social media post, Renton police said two people were taken in custody and are expected to be charged with intent to distribute illegal narcotics. "We appreciate and recognize the dedication and time of all those involved to make this a successful seizure and take these drugs off the street," police wrote.
