BALTIMORE, MD — Several rowhouses are on fire Friday afternoon in Baltimore, according to authorities. The blaze began at a vacant home at 1:55 p.m., officials reported, and it spread to a total of 12 houses, including two with people inside.
One firefighter was hurt with injuries that required medical attention but were not believed to be life-threatening, fire officials said. No civilians were injured, according to authorities.
Some crews battled the five-alarm blaze in the 300 block of South Fulton Street, where wind spread the heavy fire and smoke through the roof areas of the residences, officials said.
The fire was not under control, the Baltimore Firefighters Union IAFF Local 734 reported before 2:30 p.m, advising people to avoid the area of the 300 block of South Mount Street, 1600 block of Ramsay and 300 block of South Gilmor Street, where the fire was also involved.
