AUSTIN, TX — Austin police has identified the person who was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash on I-35 in North Austin on Friday. Duston Theron Harrison, 35, died Friday after being struck by a car in the 12100 block of north I-35 southbound, police said Thursday morning. The crash occurred around 3:55 a.m. after a driver of a green 2002 Chevy Suburban struck Harrison on the highway. More on that story: Southbound I-35 Shutdown Due To Deadly Crash In North Austin Officials said the driver that was involved remained on scene to provide information about the collision and do not expect charges to be filed. This is Austin's 27th fatal traffic crash of 2021, resulting in 29 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2020, there were 26 fatal crashes resulting in 28 fatalities.
