JERSEY CITY, NJ — A walk-up vaccine site will be open in Jersey City to Hudson County residents on Saturday at Lincoln Park.
The Hudson County Vaccine Task Force and Hudson County Improvement Authority is working with the Jersey City Department of Health to vaccinate Hudson County residents at the HCIA's Earth Day celebration. The clinic will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lincoln Park near the West Side Avenue entrance or until supplies last. Jersey City residents should bring a photo ID with them.
The Jersey City Health Department will be administering the Moderna vaccine and the second dose appointment will be scheduled onsite.
"Jersey City has worked tirelessly since day one of the pandemic to provide the necessary resources to keep our residents safe and healthy," said Mayor Steve Fulop. "As an urban community, we understand the unique challenges we face in connecting individuals with vaccine appointments. By working with our county partners, we are bringing this vaccine directly into the community and eliminating some of the barriers that may have prevented some residents from getting vaccinated."
Jersey City also has several vaccination sites that residents can sign up for an appointment with.
According to data gathered by the city and updated on Thursday, Jersey City's 7-day average COVID-19 case count is 121 cases. Since the start of the pandemic, 772 people have died of COVID-19 in Jersey City.
