If I was the cop on the scene I would have taken my baton and knocked the knife out of her hand since she was already on the ground after a marvelous take down kick. And even if she wasn't on the ground, simple training can take down crazy people as claimed by many successful martial arts teachers....more the so with a baton. I would then be praised for my heroic deed, an example to cops everywhere, and I might possibly have made a friend with a messed up little girl, while possibly setting her on a path to a greater glory then being shot down dead. We, as a nation, should never be happy when a kid gets killed violently.
