Hi, I’m Owen, a 31 year-old drummer, and I’m looking for a band to play with. I’ve been playing drums on and off since I was about 15 and I’ve been in a handful of bands over the years. Looking to join a band or start a new one and start playing shows once things start opening up again. I’m easy-going and don’t take myself too seriously. I live in Oakland, fully vaxxed, and currently share space at OMC. Ideally looking for people who live in Oakland/Berkeley as well. I’d like to find people to play with who have similar influences and want to play similar types of music. Off the top of my head, here’s a handful of my major influences in a style that I could see myself playing in a band: King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Altin Gun, Thee Oh Sees, The War On Drugs, Tame Impala, B-52s, Devo, Blonde Redhead, The Strokes, Interpol, Sonic Youth, Wilco. There’s plenty more, of course, but if our visions for the type of music we like to play are vastly different, it’s probably not going to work out.
