Description
PALO ALTO, CA — Hundreds of trees staged in Stanford Stadium last fall have been replanted around the Bay Area.
Stanford Athletics watered and cared for 470 trees that they hoped would create a "home-forest" advantage for the football team, and then donated them to city works departments throughout the Bay Area as well as nonprofits after the season.
In an update posted to Stanford's website on Thursday, the trees are now scattered from Cupertino to Redwood City. More than 100 of them are in Redwood City, placed at various schools and parks.
Palo Alto has trees throughout the city, around Addison Elementary School and at Canopy, a non-profit.
Cupertino will plant trees from Stanford this weekend at city parks, elementary schools and other locations in celebration of Arbor Day on Saturday.
